Photo Finish...

As I ran to the top of the hill on Highway 163 on Sunday, the clouds disappeared and there it was - the dreaded sun!  I had been following the weather forecast all week, and they were starting to predict cooler temperature than previously reported. The weather people also mentioned that there would be cloud cover all morning along the coast - wrong!  Sometimes I think the weather forecasters spin a wheel, and whatever "weather word" it lands on, they report it.

Even though I fought my way through part of the last half of the marathon, I always look forward to the final stretch. As soon as I can hear the announcer's voice and I can see the big banner across the finish line, I like to give it all I have left.

There's nothing like that sprint into the finish line, giving up that final burst of energy...and hoping that the photographers don't get caught off guard and miss taking your finish line photo. That's happened to me before, but this time they caught me in action.
