This Saturday, we met at Crown Point. It was a big day that started at 5:45am. We had 4 teams in one place. Two Rock & Roll run teams, a Nike/Disney run team and a Nike/Disney walk team. For the Rock & Roller, it was a 20 mile run that day. For the Nike/Disney teams, it was their first week of training. I had the pleasure of being mentor for two teams at once that day. We're coming to the end of our season for the Rock & Roll Marathon, just 3 weeks away so this was our longest run. It was supposed to be my 20 miler, but I was also there as a mentor to greet brand new runners training for the Nike Marathon and the Disneyland Half-Marathon. It brought back memories of my first time running with TNT, unsure what was ahead, but 7 seasons later, I keep coming back for more. Here's a picture of Coach Jim with the purple Spirit Sombrero, complete with mouse ears, which is awarded each week to the team member with the most spirit.
I was able to squeeze in a 10 miler, so I still owe myself a 20-mile run, to get my body & mind ready for the 26.2 on June 6th.
