This weekend, we met at UCSD for a 10-mile run. This was a back-down week, which means we're headed for some longer runs to prepare us for the marathon.

Then yesterday, I did my cross-training in Big Bear, attempting to ski after about 9 years. It went pretty good. I guess it's like riding a bike...
I came back injury-free (although I only skied the bunny slopes). The hardest part was skiing with 30 mile-an-hour winds blowing snow and hail at us all day. It was a taste of winter (in spring) for someone who's spoiled with San Diego weather. My kids learned how to ski after a 2-hour lesson. I seem to remember it taking me a little longer than that.
Back on the subject of running, on May 15th I'll be meeting up with my next TNT team to start training for the Nike Marathon and the Disneyland Half Marathon. I'll be a mentor for that one too! Signups are going on right now.
Hey Mark,
ReplyDeleteDo you know if they're all full for mentors?
I know they're looking for more on the North County team. You may need to check with the Central SD team to see if they're still looking.
