If it's Saturday, it must be rain...and this weekend it included lots of wind & rain, but we had a tough group. After you're soaked, it doesn't matter if it's raining or not. We started out at Liberty Station and headed around Shelter Island. I ran about 9 miles, including a wrong turn that sent me 2 miles in the opposite direction, and I even had another runner follow me! Oh well, as soon as I figured it out we turned around, then adjusted our turnaround to get back on track.
And when I got back, our fellow mentor, David Gong, affectionately known as "The Gonger" had hot chocolate waiting for us. This coming weekend, our run will be on Sunday. We've signed up for the Race for Literacy, a fast 8K. This a chance for the new runners to get their feet wet at an organized race. And their feet will get wet....it's supposed the rain on Sunday!
